Relations between China and Russia are very special and not like the military alliances of other countries. This opinion was expressed by the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, RIA Novosti reports.
The Chinese Ministry praised the level of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere, calling it an important pillar for the partnership between Beijing and Moscow. “The parties adhere to the principles of non-alliance, non-confrontation, not directed against third countries, these relations are fundamentally different from the military cooperative relations that exist between some countries,” the department explained.
Beijing also expressed its readiness to further deepen military partnership with Russia. In particular, the department proposed to pay special attention to contacts between high-ranking officials, military exercises and cooperation in the military-technical sphere.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the cohesion between Moscow and Beijing is “strong as a rock.” The minister noted that external factors cannot affect the strategic interaction of the two states. Relations with Beijing are also highly valued in Russia. However, back in 2019, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia would not enter into a military alliance with China.
