An employee of Asos, a popular online retailer among Russian buyers, revealed the fate of the clothes returned by customers. The corresponding video appeared in the Instagram brand account.
Brand Creative Director Jess Cheng explained that items that don’t fit customers go through a three-step sorting system. First, the parcel is inspected and the returned clothing is checked. If there are any defects, they are sent to the tailor to bring the items back to their original appearance. After that, they are washed and dried. To get rid of stains and makeup, clothes are dry cleaned and placed in an ozone scrubber.
According to Cheng, 97 percent of returned items are for resale. The brand sends the remaining three percent to partners for recycling.
Earlier in February, Asos launched a revealing outfit. This is a brown jumpsuit that costs 25 pounds sterling (2,550 rubles). The garment is decorated with a wide neckline that completely exposes the back, as well as a thong sewn in the lumbar region.
