In Tashkent, five students from three universities were poisoned to death by an unknown substance. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan.
According to the department, the students lived together in a private house in the Yunusabad district of the city. Their bodies were found around 20:50 (18:50 Moscow time) on February 27.
The district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on violation of fire safety rules, which resulted in the death of a person. The Prosecutor General’s Office has taken control of the investigation.
In the summer of 2019, 14 prisoners died from bread poisoning in Tajikistan. At one of the stops during the transfer, 16 people received three loaves of bread, which they divided among themselves. Within half an hour, they became worse, among the symptoms were nausea, vomiting and dizziness. The victims were diagnosed with severe intoxication of the body. According to one version, the bread could be contaminated with toxic mold due to improper storage in hot weather.
