Founder of “Taras Bulba” was put on wanted list in CIS

The founder and owner of the Korchma Taras Bulba restaurant chain, Yuri Beloyvan, has been put on an interstate wanted list extending to the territory of all CIS member states, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Presnensky Court of Moscow.

The investigator in charge of Beloyvan’s tax evasion case filed a corresponding petition with the court. The businessman is accused of concealing 57 million rubles from the state by re-registering a restaurant chain for a new company – “Leader K”.

In 2019, Beloyvan was sentenced to two years in prison for another tax evasion case. By that time, he had pleaded guilty for non-payment of two billion rubles to the budget and expressed his readiness to compensate for it. However, the businessman was released from serving his sentence due to illness.

According to the agreement of 2010, the CIS members can declare people accused of committing crimes on the interstate wanted list, which entails the spread of operational-search and other activities throughout the Union.
