Published by the American news agency Bloomberg, data on the alleged illegal transportation of Venezuelan oil under contracts with Rosneft could be interpreted incorrectly. This is stated in the settlement agreement, which was published by the Moscow Arbitration Court, RBC reports.
“The defendant acknowledges the plaintiff’s statement that PJSC” NK “Rosneft” or persons belonging to the “Rosneft” group received oil under prepaid contracts concluded with the companies of the PDVSA group long before the imposition of US sanctions against Venezuela, which is not testifies to the commission of any illegal actions on the part of the company “, – the document says.
Bloomberg gave no reason to believe that Rosneft was involved in the transportation of oil with the shutdown of transponders. The agency stressed that they do not have any evidence of this fact, the agreement specifies. Rosneft, in turn, agreed not to put forward any further demands on Bloomberg regarding this publication.
Rosneft filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg to protect its business reputation in December 2019. The reason for the proceedings was an article published by the agency, which reported that oil exports from Venezuela continued despite US sanctions.
