Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorn, Simon Bowes-Lyon, grand-nephew of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, was sent to prison for 10 months for attempted rape. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Sky News TV channel.
It is alleged that in February 2020 there were guests at the castle of the British aristocrat. At night, Simon Bowes-Lyon burst into the sleeping girl’s room and tried to rip off her clothes. The guest was able to fight him back, pushed the count out the door and called friends for help.
A relative of the queen made an apology to the victim of the attack, explaining his act of strong alcoholic intoxication. As the count said at the trial, he himself did not expect this from himself. “However, I had to face reality and take responsibility for what happened,” added Bowes-Lyon.
According to him, he has been receiving professional help over the past year.
