An asteroid the size of a stadium will approach Earth on February 22, NASA’s JPL Research Center reported on its website. The space object will fly about four million kilometers from the planet.
According to scientists, the diameter of asteroid 2020 XU6 is 213 meters. In addition to him, in the next day, asteroids 2020 BV9 with a diameter of 23 meters will fly up to the Earth (it will be at a distance of 5.6 million kilometers) and 2021 CC5 with a diameter of 40 meters, which will fly even further – 6.9 million kilometers from the Earth.
Earlier, astronomers at the University of Arizona found out the nature of an unknown object, which was discovered in September 2020 in orbit around the Earth. Although a number of researchers have assumed that it is an asteroid, experts have come to the conclusion that it is an artificial origin.
