Specialists from the UK’s National Health Service said that one of the symptoms of COVID-19 – a persistent cough – may indicate that a person has lung cancer. Reported by Express.
According to doctors, people who are diagnosed with cancer at a very early stage are much more likely to live another five years compared to those who are diagnosed with the fourth stage of this dangerous disease. At the same time, according to the results of the study, it turned out that half of the people in South East England do not know that a persistent cough for more than three weeks can be a symptom of lung cancer.
In addition to a cough that lasts two to three weeks, cancer symptoms can include chest infections, hemoptysis, pain when breathing or coughing, shortness of breath, fatigue or lack of energy, loss of appetite, or unexplained weight loss.
Earlier, the Russian doctor Arkady Vertkin warned that causeless fatigue, memory problems and temperature jumps may indicate not only complications against the background of the transferred coronavirus, but also other pathologies. He pointed out that forgetfulness should be alarming not only after an infectious disease, but also in itself.
