US President Joe Biden wanted to join the European Union to fight China and resist its “economic abuse and coercion,” writes CNBC.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Biden said the US and its foreign partners should “make China accountable for its economic practices.” “Everyone should play by the same rules,” concluded the head of the White House.
According to him, Washington must fight back “the abuses and coercion of the Chinese government that undermine the foundations of the international economic system.”
In previous speeches, Biden said that he would move away from the tactics of his predecessor Donald Trump, who unleashed a trade war with China, and would act primarily within the framework of international agreements and organizations such as the World Trade Organization and the World Bank.
