Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia Vladimir Putin and Sadyr Japarov will meet in Moscow on February 24. This was reported by “Sputnik Kyrgyzstan” with reference to the head of the foreign policy department of the head of the republic’s apparatus Dastan Dyushekeev.
The fact that Japarov will soon make his first visit to Russia as the head of Kyrgyzstan became known at the end of January, but the exact date of the meeting of the leaders of the two countries was not named. The Kyrgyz leader will stay in Moscow for two days.
It is noted that during the talks the heads of state will discuss issues of cooperation in the trade, economic and cultural spheres, as well as interaction within the framework of integration associations.
In addition to Putin, Zhaparov will meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Earlier, the President of Kyrgyzstan published an article about Russia called “Allied Ties”. In it, he revealed the history of the relationship between the Russian and Kyrgyz peoples in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the current state of bilateral relations. “Thanks to integration projects and its power, Russia provides peace along the perimeter of the state border, forms a dynamically developing region around itself,” Zhaparov wrote.
On January 16, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan announced the victory of Japarov in the early presidential elections with 79.23 percent of the vote. His inauguration took place on January 28. As a presidential candidate, Japarov described post-election relations with Russia. He stated: “This is our most important strategic partner.”
