Richest man in world accused of “punitive actions”

The New York prosecutor’s office sued the company of the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, Amazon, accusing it of insufficient care for employees during the pandemic, as well as of punitive actions towards disaffected. This is stated in the claim.

Amazon has made huge profits at the expense of the lives, health and safety of employees, the lawsuit said on behalf of employees. It is alleged that the management of the corporation knew that at least 250 people had contracted the coronavirus, but did not take proper measures to protect the rest of the employees. Plaintiffs demand compensation and full reimbursement of legal costs to the victims.

Employee Christian Smalls who protested in the parking lot of the corporation’s warehouse was fired. The state attorney general’s office equated this with punitive actions. Amazon denied all charges.

Bezos on February 18 again became the richest man in the world. He bypassed the head of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, who held the first position for more than a month.

The founder of Amazon will step down as CEO in the third quarter of 2021. Bezos will be replaced by Andy Jesse, who heads Amazon Web Services.
