President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in February 20, BelTA informs.
“We really agreed with Putin a long time ago that in the early twenties of February we will meet and talk about some areas of our cooperation,” Lukashenko said at a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota.
He commented on reports of negotiations on a loan to Minsk. “As always happens in Russia, some of us will pick up the agenda, and so:“ Lukashenka will come to ask as much as three billion dollars. ”No, I’m not going there to ask for something,” the President of Belarus said.
Earlier, “Kommersant”, citing its sources, reported that Lukashenko intends to discuss with Putin the issue of providing Belarus with a $ 3 billion loan. According to the newspaper, Minsk wants to get access to the rest of the funds allocated by Moscow for the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
