Tesla is recalling thousands of cars from Germany due to problems with memory modules. This is reported by the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper.
Problems have arisen with models S and X cars manufactured before March 2018. The Federal Motor Transport Department of the Federal Republic of Germany discovered that Tesla’s flash memory in the control unit eventually fails. Because of this, an unregulated shutdown of the center screen can occur, which threatens to block several functions. The auto giant agreed to fix the problem and recall the cars on a voluntary basis.
Earlier it also became known that the National Highway Safety Administration under the US Department of Transportation demanded that Tesla recall 158 thousand electric vehicles due to dangerous defects. Problems were related to the main control unit MCU and the display, due to which the image from the rear view camera could be lost while reversing.
Last November, Tesla was forced to recall more than ten thousand Model X and Model Y cars due to problems with fixing roof fragments. Its pieces flying off during movement could be dangerous.
In addition, the auto giant recalled 401 Model Y vehicles due to the fact that during assembly, the bolts in the steering mechanism could be insufficiently tightened, and this could lead to a steering failure.
