The Russian diplomat, declared persona non grata by the Estonian government, is ordered to leave the country within a week. RIA Novosti was informed about this by a diplomatic source.
“It was not a short period of time, a day or two, but more – within a week,” the agency’s interlocutor said and explained that the Estonian diplomatic worker, who is being expelled from the Russian Federation as part of mirror measures, was also given a week to collect. / p>
Earlier on February 18, it became known that Russia was expelling an employee of the Estonian Embassy in Moscow. Estonian ambassador Margus Laidre was summoned to the Russian diplomatic department and expressed to him a “strong protest” in connection with the expulsion of an employee of the Russian embassy. This was a response to a similar measure by the Estonian government.
Earlier, the Estonian parliament called on the European Union to develop a policy of sanctions against Moscow. The corresponding statement in defense of civil liberties in Russia was adopted by the deputies on February 15.
