Apple’s top flagship is the most popular 5G smartphone in the US. This is reported by PCMag with reference to a report by Ookla.
Ookla, the developer of Internet speed testing software Speedtest, has compiled a report on the data collected for January. Analysts have found that the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most requested 5G device in 49 out of 50 US states. The only region in which the iPhone 12 Pro took the lead was Vermont. The 12 Pro Max was also named the most popular fifth-generation connected smartphone in the District of Columbia.
The second and third places are shared by the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12. The results of the study confirmed earlier reports by other analysts that the iPhone 12 mini is the least popular smartphone from the current Apple series.
In addition to smartphones of the American company, the top 5 also includes Samsung devices. Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra took fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Ookla’s analysts also drew several other conclusions from the available data. Experts have confirmed that the new LG Wing 5G smartphone has failed in the market and stated that the OnePlus Nord N10 5G could occupy its niche. This is due to the fact that the study was conducted before the inexpensive OnePlus smartphone hit the US market. A total of 33 smartphones took part in Ookla testing.
Previously, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei praised Apple for innovation and named the iPhone 12 the best 5G smartphone. “We support the progress made by the iPhone 12,” Zhengfei said, and stressed that Apple devices perform best on Huawei’s 5G networks.
