The minimalistic Linux distribution has been released Tiny Core Linux 12.0 , which can run on systems with 48MB of RAM. The graphical environment of the distribution is built on the basis of the Tiny X X server, the FLTK toolkit and the FLWM window manager. The distribution is loaded entirely into RAM and runs from memory. The new release updates system components, including Linux kernel 5.10.3, busybox 1.33.0, Glibc 2.32, GCC 10.2.0, binutils 2.35.1, e2fsprogs 1.45.6 and util-linux 2.36.1.
Boot iso image is only 16MB. For 64-bit systems, an assembly CorePure64 has been prepared, with a size of 17 MB. Additionally assembly CorePlus (160 MB) is supplied, which includes a number of additional packages, such as a set of window managers (FLWM, JWM, IceWM, Fluxbox, Hackedbox, Openbox), an installer with the ability to install additional extensions, as well as a ready-made set of tools for providing access to the network, including a manager for configuring Wifi connections.
