Drug dealers tried to transport cocaine across the North Sea on a jet ski and nearly died from frostbite. The incident occurred in September last year, but it became known only now, reports The Independent.
Two Britons used a jet ski to get from Suffolk to the Netherlands. There they took away a consignment of cocaine worth 200 thousand dollars. However, on the way back they ran out of fuel and got stuck in the middle of the sea.
When rescuers found the hapless criminals, one of the men was diagnosed with frostbite, and the other was exhausted. They were taken to a Norfolk hospital, but the rescuers were alarmed by the suspicious behavior of the men, and they contacted the police. The men lied that they were fishing, but the police searched and found two kilograms of cocaine, a map of the North Sea, diving equipment and a tide schedule. The drug dealers were sentenced to seven years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that a boat with more than 600 kilograms of cocaine washed ashore in the Marshall Islands. According to the preliminary version of the police, the boat sailed from Central or South America: the ship could drift on the high seas for several years. The entire cargo was burned.
