The third wave of coronavirus will be possible if people are imprudent. The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia Melita Vuinovich warned about this on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
She noted that now the second wave shows a decline around the world. However, since human herd immunity has not yet developed, there is a risk of a third wave. “Depends on the behavior of people,” she summed up.
On January 28, 100 million cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the world. More than 2.1 million people have died from complications from COVID-19 pneumonia.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that before the formation of population immunity, it is necessary to observe the restrictions on coronavirus.
On February 15, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin admitted that restrictions will continue to be lifted in the city if the epidemiological situation continues to improve. In the future, the authorities may lift the ban on festivals and public events.
