A special train with blocks of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle manufactured by the Progress Rocket and Space Center (Samara, part of the Roskosmos State Corporation) arrived at the Ledyanaya station near the Vostochny cosmodrome, as well as two leading fairing. Specialists of the Vostochny Space Center (a branch of the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities, part of Roskosmos) met the train, after which it was transported to the Unified Technical Complex.
Cars with space rocket components are located on the territory of the technical complex. According to the comprehensive work schedule, after February 24, 2021, the launch crew will begin work with the parts of the arrived rocket and assemble them into a “package” (assembly of the first and second stages). The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle is intended for a mission under a contract with a foreign customer.
Components of three more Soyuz-2 launch vehicles of stage 1b and two nose fairings for them, as well as one stage 1a, are in storage mode in the assembly and test building of launch vehicles of the Unified Technical Complex. The Soyuz-2.1a and Soyuz-2.1b rockets are stored block-by-block, in particular, for the Meteor and Luna-25 spacecraft. In addition, two Phase 1b carriers are packaged for missions under contracts with a foreign customer.
