Alpha testing for Slackware 15.0 has begun

Almost five years after the last release began alpha testing of the distribution Slackware 15.0 . The project has been developing since 1993 and is the oldest existing distribution kit. The distribution’s features are its lack of complications and a simple initialization system in the style of classic BSD systems, which makes Slackware an interesting solution for learning how Unix-like systems work, experimenting and getting to know Linux. To download prepared an installation image, size 3.1 GB (x86_64), as well as build to run in live mode.

New branch notable for the update of the Glibc system library to version 2.33 and the use of the Linux 5.10 kernel. With rare exceptions, the rest of the packages have been moved from the Current branch and rebuilt with the new Glibc. For example, firefox rebuild is postponed,
thunderbird and seamonkey, both require additional patches to be compatible with the new Rust compiler used in the distribution.
