Former US President Donald Trump intends to resume his participation in the country’s political life. His return after the impeachment case was announced by the Associated Press.
According to him, Trump is preparing for the next stage of his life after his presidency and is looking for ways to restore his power. The first step for the former American leader will be interviews with Republican-friendly media outlets. “I believe you are likely to hear a lot more about him in the coming days,” said Trump aide Jason Miller.
It is noted that the former head of state discussed with political consultants the possibility of helping Republicans in their attempts to take control of the House of Representatives and Senate in the midterm elections in 2022. Trump is also focused on getting revenge on the Republicans who supported his impeachment.
Earlier it was reported that Trump over the past two weeks was worried about the impeachment process and its outcome. Since leaving the White House late last month, the former president has been very quiet. Many associated his silence and quiet behavior with the experience of impeachment. A close Trump aide also confirmed that the former president has expressed concern about the process in private conversations.
On February 13, 57 senators voted for impeachment of Trump, 43 opposed. 67 votes out of 100 were required to issue an indictment. Thus, the initiative did not receive the required number of votes. The Senate acquitted the former president.
