Many Americans said that former US President Donald Trump should stop participating in the country’s political life. This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by CNBC.
So, 54 percent of the respondents wanted Trump’s final departure from politics. Such a move would be approved by 81 percent of those polled from among Democrats, 26 percent of Republicans, as well as 47 percent of survey participants who do not support these parties.
At the same time, 74 percent of Republican respondents hope that Trump will continue to actively participate in the political life of the country, and 48 percent of surveyed supporters of the Republican Party would like Trump to “remain its head.”
Earlier, a poll showed that most US citizens do not believe that America has become “great again” after the presidency of Donald Trump. Thus, 57 percent of respondents said that over the past four years, Trump has not fulfilled his main campaign slogan – “Make America Great Again.” At the same time, only 39 percent of respondents said that he managed to achieve this goal.
On February 9, the second impeachment process against Trump began in the Senate. On January 14, the House of Representatives voted to impeach the former owner of the White House in connection with the riots in Washington. This is the first time the US has attempted to remove a state leader from office after the end of his presidential term.
