The coronavirus detected in minks in Poland can be transmitted to humans, and vice versa. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland.
The coronavirus was detected on a farm in the Kartu region a few months ago. It also turned out that there were no genetic changes characteristic of the British, South African or Brazilian variants of the virus.
Last November, Denmark decided to destroy all 17 million minks at fur farms to prevent the spread of the mutated coronavirus. An infection was found in animals, which spread to humans and contributed to the weakening of the ability to form antibodies.
