SME Bank, a subsidiary bank of the SME Corporation, financed the Diona company (a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok) in the amount of 95 million rubles to launch a production of baby diapers-panties. Funding was provided to support priority niches, in particular, resident SMEs in the Far Eastern Federal District. The funds received were used to purchase materials, raw materials and equipment. The total cost of the project is estimated at 125.5 million rubles. With the financial support of SME Bank, the new plant has already been put into operation. “The modern production line produces up to 500 baby diapers-panties per minute. Such indicators of production volume will increase the share of high-quality domestic products in the Russian market and make diapers more affordable for customers. Initially, only imported high quality raw materials will be used for the production of baby diapers. However, in the future, it is planned to switch to Russian raw materials, subject to the same quality. Organization of production in Russia will reduce costs and provide the end customer with high-quality goods at affordable prices in every region of our country, “said Yuri Stefashin, director of Diona.
“When entrepreneurs receive the necessary support, as in this case from the subsidiary SME Bank, unique production facilities appear that can compete on equal terms with foreign counterparts and create products that are in demand in Russia. It is important to emphasize that the Ministry of Economic Development is systematically working on increasing the availability of loans for SMEs and in 2021 the rate on loans under the 1764 program was reduced to no more than 7 percent per annum. “Diona” produces products under its own brand “ElaraKIDS” of two types: “Traditional” and “Ultrathin”. Modern equipment allows us to produce all sizes from S to XXL and, unlike many imported brands, Russian-made diapers correspond to the sizes indicated on the packaging. Diona also carries out contract manufacturing under the brands of other companies.
