Japan earthquake injures over 50 people

At least more than 50 people were affected by the earthquake that struck Japan. Kyodo agency reports.

At the moment, no casualties have been reported. Several fires have been reported in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures. Government spokesman Katsunobu Kato warned that aftershocks could be repeated within the next week.

According to preliminary data from the agency, the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.3. The epicenter is located in the Fukushima prefecture area.

In 2011, approximately in the same place, there was an earthquake of magnitude 9.0, which killed 18.4 thousand people, as well as an accident at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. A spokesman for Japan’s National Meteorological Office said the tremors were the aftershock of 2011.
