The current President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered to check one of the trading companies, which, according to him, neglects Belarusian products, reports the Tut.by portal.
According to him, this company is “just now cut out” because it sells “Egyptian potatoes”, “Polish apples”, “Lithuanian products”. Lukashenka said that he “personally instructed his people to go through and see.”
The head of state emphasized that he “suffered through suffering” for the decision, and he cannot treat the company differently. He indicated that the authorities will support Belarusian production companies, and they need to put their products somewhere.
According to the newspaper, Lukashenko speaks about the Green hypermarket chain. Last week, employees of the Financial Investigation Department came to the Minsk office of Greenroznitsa. According to unconfirmed reports, one of the company’s leaders was detained, the reason was a political statement. In “Grinroznitsa” itself, commenting on this message, they only noted that currently the company’s accounts are not blocked, and employees are at their workplaces.
Since August 9, the day of the presidential elections, unprecedented protests against Lukashenka have continued in the republic. One of the methods promoted by the opposition was the refusal to purchase products from state-owned enterprises. Opponents of the permanent president believe that in this way they will deprive the current leadership of the country of money.
At the end of February, Lukashenko is to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to Russian media reports, the parties will discuss the details of a new loan in the amount of $ 3 billion. Minsk has so far denied this information. In the next six months, the republic expects $ 500 million from Russia on the previous loan. Earlier, a billion dollars have already been credited to her accounts.
