Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was outraged by the formal approach to the execution of the May decree of President Vladimir Putin on the growth of public sector salaries. At a government meeting, he called such a practice unacceptable, RIA Novosti reports.
Mishustin stressed that the decree of 2012 has no statute of limitations, it remains one of the basic criteria for the work of the government and regions. “It is important to see people behind these numbers,” the Prime Minister reminded the meeting participants.
Mishustin spoke about the importance of raising the incomes of employees of budgetary organizations following Putin, who earlier this week criticized the practice of adjusting statistics. The topic arose from a message from a scientist from Novosibirsk, Anastasia Proskurina, who said that her salary was 26 thousand rubles.
The President replied that, according to the decree, her salary should be at least 80 thousand rubles, and instructed the relevant departments to understand the situation. Later, the management of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences explained the low salary to Proskurina by the fact that no money was allocated from the budget to raise it.
Putin called for an abandonment of the formal approach to wage increases and demanded that such problems be no longer reported.
