Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that the republic intends to develop a new concept of its foreign policy by the end of this year, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the reason for this decision was the international threats that have already arisen before the republic or may arise in the future. “We see that the world has changed radically,” said Makei.
He explained that in the document Minsk will adjust its approaches to relations with some countries, while not abandoning a multi-vector policy.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that he wants to preserve the sovereignty of Belarus while integrating with Russia within the framework of the Union State. He opposed the formation of new supranational bodies and proposed to consider the association exclusively within the framework of intersectoral cooperation.
At the same time, he repeatedly criticized Moscow for condemning the multi-vector policy of Minsk and spoke about the desire to build an independent Belarus.
