Tokyo Olympics organizing committee head resigns

The head of the organizing committee of the Tokyo Olympic Games, Yoshiro Mori, resigned after the scandal caused by his sexist statements. The Kyodo agency reports.

Saburo Kawabuchi, former head of the Japan Football Association, is expected to take his place. Less than six months left before the Olympics.

Mori’s intention to resign became known on the eve of February 11. Earlier, the 83-year-old politician said that working meetings with the participation of a large number of women are often delayed. According to him, women talk too much, and each considers it necessary to speak out. Maury apologized for his words, but it didn’t help.
