Trump wanted to be connected to a ventilator

Former US President Donald Trump was wanted to be connected to a ventilator at a time when he was sick with a coronavirus infection. This is reported by The New York Times, citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to their information, the illness of the former head of state was more serious than the public was informed about. In particular, doctors were worried about the level of oxygen in Trump’s blood, which dropped below 90 percent, while the course of the disease is considered severe even when this indicator drops to 90 percent.

In addition, sources familiar with Trump’s condition told the publication that the president had lung infiltrates that occur when the lungs are inflamed and contain fluid or bacteria. According to them, at that time, officials believed that the head of state should be connected to a ventilator.

The American leader and his wife Melania Trump contracted the coronavirus in October 2020. The head of state was treated at the Walter Reed military hospital. He was taking an experimental antibody-based serum. Trump claimed to have felt like a superman after taking the medication. A few days later, antibodies to the infection were found in his blood and he was discharged from the hospital.
