Bitcoin price has set a new historical record

The price of the most popular cryptocurrency – bitcoin – set a new all-time record and reached $ 48,399 per coin. This is evidenced by the data of the CoinDesk platform.

At the time of publication of the material, the cost has dropped to $ 47,879. The growth is driven by interest in cryptocurrency from large companies, including BNY Melloy, Mastercard and Tesla, CNBC notes.

The previous record was set on February 9, when the cost of Bitcoin exceeded $ 48,000.

The surge began after Tesla announced the purchase of a $ 1.5 billion cryptocurrency. The company also indicated that it plans to start accepting bitcoin as a means of payment for its products “in the near future”. Tesla investors then decided to raise the issue of limiting the amount invested in cryptocurrency.

According to analysts, by the end of this week, the rate could surpass the $ 50,000 mark if other large companies follow Tesla’s example. However, with the decline in the impact of such statements, the value of the cryptocurrency may drop to 33-37 thousand dollars.
