Almost every tenth inhabitant of Russian metropolis has ceased to have enough money for food

Electronic grocery cards may appear in Novosibirsk in 2022 to support those in need. This is stated in the statement of the deputy chairman of the city Council of Deputies Anton Tyrtyshny, which was distributed by the press service of the body, Interfax reports.

According to him, a mechanism should still be developed for such a method, but in the future it is more convenient than the current support format using fixed product sets. It will be possible to buy products necessary for a specific person, with the exception of categories such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

Tyrtyshny pointed out that in Novosibirsk, the third largest metropolis in Russia, there is no longer enough money for food for almost every tenth. Polls show that eight percent of city dwellers cannot cope with the problem.

Earlier, during a government meeting with the participation of President Vladimir Putin, a scientist from Novosibirsk Anastasia Proskurina said that her salary was 26 thousand rubles. The head of state was surprised because, according to the decree, a woman should receive at least 80 thousand rubles a month.

Later, he criticized the government for the practice of adjusting the salary indicators for public sector employees, designed to ensure that formal requirements were met in the reports. Putin instructed ministers to tackle this issue so that reports of low salaries in the regions will no longer be received.

Meanwhile, the management of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences explained the low salary to Proskurina by the fact that they were not allocated money for this purpose.
