The topic of introducing a minimum basic income is not relevant for Russia. This is the opinion of Andrei Isaev, first deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, writes TASS.
The party does not support the idea of giving money to the population just like that. Isaev recalled that the minimum basic income exists in several countries, but it does not take into account the income of citizens, it is just a payment from the state that any person receives.
In September last year, the deputy head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev suggested thinking about introducing a minimum guaranteed income in the country. We are talking about the amount that any person should receive, regardless of his type of activity, social and economic status.
The head of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrei Kutepov said in the fall of 2020 that in a pandemic, one should think about introducing a basic income and handing out money to those who cannot find a job. In his opinion, the allowance should be at least three living wages (11,731 rubles in the first quarter of last year), that is, more than 35 thousand rubles.
