Central Bank to deal with banks and Fast Payment System

From October 1, 2021, the Bank of Russia is going to set the daily limit on transfers through the Fast Payments System (FPS) at the level of at least 150 thousand rubles. The requirement is spelled out in the draft regulation of the regulator.

Thus, the Central Bank decided to deal with financial institutions, which set protective limits that interfere with the normal functioning of the system.

The changes will affect the largest banks in the country. In particular, Sberbank has a daily limit on transfers through the SBP set at 50 thousand rubles, at VTB the daily limit is 150 thousand, but the monthly limit is two million, that is, it can be exhausted in less than half a month.

Tinkoff Bank conditions are tougher than VTB. The daily limit is the same 150 thousand, but the monthly limit is 1.5 million, and no more than 20 transfers can be made per day.
