Relations between Russia and the UK have stabilized at a low level, and so far there are no signs of improvement. The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom Andrey Kelin told about this, he is quoted by TASS.
He also urged not to harbor illusions about how relations between the countries have developed over the past year. According to the diplomat, there are few hopes for an early improvement in relations between Moscow and London.
“The past year did not justify the hopes for improving relations amid the pandemic. Here, they continue to draw the image of the enemy, although we are open to the most benevolent cooperation. And this everyday drawing of the image of the enemy, and we have endured about 10 unfounded accusations this year, interferes with the establishment of cooperation “, – explained Kelin.
In September 2020, the diplomat spoke about the summons to the British Foreign Ministry due to the situation with Alexei Navalny (he is the founder of the FBK, included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent). Then Kelin declared the inadmissibility of unfounded accusations and Russia’s adherence to international agreements.
