Lukashenko demanded to recover damage to city property from protesters

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demanded to recover from the protesters compensation for damage caused to city property in Minsk. He stated this at a meeting with the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, BelTA informs.

“Did they compensate the city for what they broke? Did they compensate for these actions? It was worth the money to restore everything. Therefore, there should be no descent here,” Lukashenko stressed.

In Belarus, for exactly six months, mass protests have continued due to the official results of the presidential elections, according to which Lukashenko won 80 percent of the vote, and the main opposition candidate, the wife of the arrested blogger Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, received 10 percent.

The first actions were violently dispersed using special equipment. A number of opposition politicians and activists were arrested or fled the country. Lukashenko himself claims that the West is behind what is happening.
