Fueling of spacecraft “Arktika-M” with fuel completed

On Sunday, February 7, 2021, specialists from the Center for Testing Fueling Complexes of the Yuzhny Space Center (a branch of the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation perimeter) successfully completed refueling operations for the Arktika spacecraft -M “fuel components.

Currently, the device has been transported to the assembly and test building for preparation for assembly as part of the space warhead of the Soyuz-2.1b space rocket. Its launch is scheduled for the end of February this year from the launch complex of site 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.

Spacecraft “Arktika-M”, developed at the Scientific and Production Association named after S.A. Lavochkin (part of the State Corporation “Roscosmos”), is intended for regular (with a frequency of 15-30 minutes) surveying of the Arctic region of the Earth, being in the apogee of the highly elliptical orbit of the “Molniya” type.
