Young users massively got rid of tight-fitting jeans and angered the adult audience of the social network. Relevant posts on TikTok were noticed by Junkee.
The Zoomers (people born in the period from 2002 to 2005 – approx. “Lenta.ru”) began to publish videos in which they criticize skinny jeans. The flash mob was launched by a user under the nickname @momohkd, who recommended that such trousers be burned or thrown away. Its publication angered some older users. “If you don’t like them, that doesn’t mean we have to throw them away”, “What kind of hate for jeans?”, “Why are you telling us what to wear and what not?” – they wrote.
In addition, bloggers who are representatives of the millennial generation (people born from 1981 to 2000 – approx. “Lenta.ru”), in response to the posts of the young audience, began to share comic videos about the rejection of tight jeans. p>
For example, a user named @leakoob filmed a video in which she stated that she would not only leave tight jeans in her wardrobe, but would also continue to wear her hair in a straight part, although this is considered old-fashioned.
American Teresa Jones, in turn, posted a video in which she runs away from home after learning that she cannot wear skinny pants and use a laughing smiley in correspondence so as not to look too old. Her post went viral and garnered over two million views.
