The most popular cryptocurrency in the world – bitcoin – has renewed its historical maximum, has risen in price at a record and now costs more than 42 thousand dollars per coin. This is evidenced by the trading data displayed on the CoinMarketCap portal.
At the time of the release of the note, bitcoin has risen in price by 8.98 percent – to 42, 645 thousand dollars. The previous maximum was reached in early January 2021, when the cryptocurrency was valued at $ 41.95 thousand.
The reason for the sharp rise in price was the information that Tesla bought bitcoins for $ 1.5 billion. The company also indicated that it plans to start accepting bitcoin as a means of payment for its products “in the near future”.
Bitcoin began to rally in March 2020 amid news of an evolving coronavirus pandemic as global stock markets and oil prices crashed. Analysts of the Luno crypto exchange and the OSK brokerage company predict Bitcoin growth to $ 50 thousand. In their opinion, in the next 3-10 years, the popularity of bitcoin may grow, while gold, on the contrary, risks not being liked by investors.
