US President Joe Biden said that China is the main competitor for the new US administration. He stated this during his speech at the State Department, TASS reports.
Biden noted that the US is facing “impending authoritarianism” and the growing ambitions of the PRC. He also added that, nevertheless, the United States administration is ready to cooperate with China.
Earlier, White House spokesman Jen Psaki said that Joe Biden would reconsider relations with China. “All the steps that were taken by the previous administration are currently being reviewed in terms of our approach to national security,” Psaki said. Thus, the revision included, among other things, the trade deal with China, concluded by former President Donald Trump.
