Over the past week, dozens of reconnaissance aircraft from other countries have been spotted near the borders of Russia: planes and drones. The newspaper of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation “Krasnaya Zvezda” reports this.
The military over the past week spotted 33 reconnaissance aircraft and eight unmanned aerial vehicles. Based on weekly reports, such high activity was last seen in September last year.
All foreign aircraft approaching Russia were accompanied by Russian radar stations, once, in order to prevent the violation of the state border, a fighter took off.
On January 30, a similar incident was reported: a Russian MiG-31 fighter intercepted a Norwegian spy plane over the Barents Sea.
Earlier it became known that NATO fighters flew hundreds of times to intercept Russian military aircraft in 2020. According to the North Atlantic Alliance, in the past year, the air forces of member countries intercepted military aircraft more than 400 times approaching NATO air borders in Europe.
