German police confiscate bitcoin wallet and fail to hack

In Germany, the police have never been able to hack a bitcoin wallet that was confiscated from a man convicted of fraud. The prosecutor of the city of Kempten, Sebastian Murer, told about this, reports Reuters.

There are 1.7 thousand bitcoins in the wallet, which at the current exchange rate is more than 50 million euros. Since the verdict was passed, the most popular cryptocurrency has risen in price, which means that the amount on the wallet has also grown.

Law enforcers offered the man to tell the password, but he was silent. Perhaps, Moorer suggested, he himself did not know him. In parallel, the police made several attempts to gain access to the funds, but to no avail. The reason for the sentence for more than two years was the installation of programs on other computers for mining bitcoin by the convicted persons.

Bitcoin began to grow rapidly since mid-October. At that time, it was at the level of ten thousand dollars per coin, but in early January it went beyond 40 thousand. After the correction, the coin moves back to this level.

Investment bank Goldman Sachs believes that the high volatility of bitcoin does not allow you to store money in it and use it for payments. The richest man in the world, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, argues with this opinion, believing that the whole world will soon recognize the cryptocurrency.
