Incomes of Russians will recover in the third or fourth quarters of this year. This term was named by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, TASS quoted him as saying.
The Minister pointed out that the restrictions regime introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic is gradually being relaxed. “Demand is returning, along with this, incomes will return, we will see a recovery in household income this year. It will occur mainly in the third – fourth quarters,” he said.
A recent study by HeadHunter and Dengi Vperyod showed that a quarter of Russians do not have enough wages for basic needs. The highest proportion of those who do not have enough money are among workers (39 percent), administrative personnel (36 percent), as well as among employees in the transport and logistics sector (36 percent).
In addition, against the background of the termination of support measures that were introduced last year against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, the problem of poverty in Russia may worsen. Over the nine months of last year, the number of citizens with incomes below the subsistence level rose to 19.6 million.
