With the coming to power in the United States of the new President Joe Biden, American regulators prepared to fight the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, reports Bloomberg. The publication indicates that the billionaire has a long history of clashes with the authorities and is not going to change his behavior now. That said, the potential for further conflict grows as Biden works to strengthen regulators.
An illustrative example of the confrontation is the claims against the Mask of the US Federal Aviation Administration after the December unsuccessful test flight of the SpaceX rocket. The agency launched its own investigation. The authorities studied not only the crash of the rocket, but also SpaceX’s “refusal to adhere to the terms” of launching spaceships.
Tesla also causes dissatisfaction with regulatory authorities: the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in January demanded that the company recall 158 thousand Model S and Model X cars due to defects in the touch screen. Tesla ultimately yielded to this demand in early February.
In addition, with his statements on the social network Twitter, Musk influenced the exchange trading, for which he was fined by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. For example, on January 29, a businessman published a hashtag of bitcoin, after which the currency rose in price by 15 percent in 30 minutes. In the end, the billionaire decided to temporarily leave Twitter, but he did not explain the reasons.
