In the Zeysky District of the Amur Region, work has been completed to clean up the crash area from fragments of the first stage of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket, which was successfully launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome on December 18, 2020 as part of the OneWeb mission. Fragments of the launch vehicle with a total mass of about 8 tons were removed from the area, all of them have already been delivered to the cosmodrome.
The prospecting work of the fourth side block of the first stage is still ongoing. In all areas of the fall, search operations are carried out on Mi-8 helicopters. Snow sampling and express tests are carried out at the sites of fragments detection and monitoring points.
Earlier, in the area of the fall in the Kobyaysky ulus of the Republic of Sakha, a fallen second stage of a launch vehicle was discovered. Upon completion of the search work, all found fragments will be removed and delivered to the Vostochny cosmodrome.
