A quarter of Russians said there is a shortage of salaries for basic needs

A third of Russians (36 percent) said that they have enough salary for basic needs, more than a third – which is enough, but with difficulty (39 percent). A quarter of Russians noted that their income does not even cover basic needs. Such data are contained in a study by HeadHunter and Dengi Vperyod, writes RIA Novosti.

The highest proportion of those who do not have enough wages are among workers (39 percent), administrative personnel (36 percent), and among employees in the transport and logistics sector (36 percent). Among the regions, these are Sverdlovsk Oblast (36 percent) and Rostov Oblast (35 percent).

About half of the respondents (46 percent) said that they lack more than 20 thousand rubles for basic needs, a quarter – from 15 to 20 thousand, a fifth (19 percent) – from 10 to 15 thousand rubles. The largest items of expenditure were named by Russians spending on food (62 percent), rent and mortgage payments (35 percent), utilities (27 percent) and repayment of loans (20 percent).

Half of the respondents (51 percent) spend 25 to 50 percent of their salaries on rent or mortgages. Respondents who do not have enough money for basic needs refuse to buy clothes and shoes, travel, interesting leisure and paid medicine.

Earlier, the average salary at Russian small and medium-sized businesses became known. It is about 45 thousand rubles.
