In Russian regions, treatment may be more economical, since prices for medical services there are lower than in Moscow and St. Petersburg, or may be provided free of charge. Medical lawyer Irina Gritsenko told the Prime agency about this.
She recalled that some medical services in the regions can be obtained free of charge if they are provided under the program of state guarantees of free provision of medical care to citizens. Gritsenko noted that medical tourism has been developing for a long time, and dental and cosmetic services in commercial medical organizations have become the most popular destinations among Russians. According to her, the prices for them in the regions may be lower “by more than fifty percent” than in the cities of federal significance, so you can save even on travel costs.
Irina Gritsenko also noted that medical tourism is developing rapidly against the backdrop of global economic competition thanks to modern technologies and improved patient care.
Earlier, a study of the SuperJob job search service showed that almost half of Russians (47 percent) began to save money because of the coronavirus pandemic. Only eight percent decided to increase their spending. Moreover, men made such a decision more often than women (ten and six percent, respectively). Young people more often than the older generation decide to spend their savings in a crisis.
