Trump’s lawyers call impeachment process unconstitutional

Lawyers for former US President Donald Trump have called the impeachment process after his departure unconstitutional. RIA Novosti reports.

Lawyers, in response to the accusations of the Democrats, stated that the politician did not participate in the rebellion.

The impeachment process will begin after February 8. The resolution contains one article of the charge – incitement to rebellion. Trump became the first president in US history to be impeached twice.

On January 14, the US House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump over the riots in Washington.

On January 6, Trump protesters stormed the Capitol Building and surrounded the Senate Hall. The Senate and the House of Representatives interrupted the meeting at which they planned to approve the results of the last elections. During the protests, police detained nearly 70 rioters, killing five.
