Yandex.Taxi announced the purchase of call centers and a business ordered by the Vezet group of companies. The deal was worth $ 178 million. This is stated in a message posted on the company’s website.
“The deal will allow Yandex.Taxi to improve customer service and accelerate the development of the logistics platform, in particular, to offer express delivery of parcels and goods to residents of the regions,” the message says.
In the summer of 2020, it became known about the merger between Yandex.Taxi and Lucky. Then it was assumed that the joint venture “Yandex” and Uber in Russia and the CIS countries will acquire call centers and competitor software. The current Lucky shareholders will receive 3.6 percent in the new company and up to $ 71.5 million if the required key figures are achieved. But such plans did not suit the FAS.
The new agreement implies the acquisition of only part of the assets of “Lucky”, operates in a limited number of regions and does not apply to software, specified in “Yandex”. The integration is planned to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
