Moscow has reason to believe that the situation with Alexei Navalny (founder of the Anti-Corruption Fund, included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent) is a staged by the West, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The fact that the Russian side suspected the staging in this case, he said at the talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the OSCE chairman, Ann Linde, RIA Novosti reports.
“According to the results of these investigations, no information that would really show the validity of the accusations against the Russian leadership was not provided to us. If you accuse, then prove your guilt. And if you say:” I will not tell you anything, because it is secret “or because the patient himself does not allow it, it means that we have every reason to believe that this is a staging,” Lavrov said.
On February 2, the Moscow City Court is hearing about canceling the suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case and replacing it with the real one Navalny. The UFSIN asks to replace the conditional sentence with 3.5 years of imprisonment in the colony. Navalny was charged with 60 violations of public order after a suspended sentence.
About 20 employees of the embassies of different countries, including countries such as the USA, Bulgaria, Poland, Latvia, Austria, Switzerland, arrived at the hearing. The Russian authorities called this a sign of foreign interference.
Navalny was detained on January 17 immediately after returning from Germany, where he was undergoing rehabilitation. Navalny fell into a coma on August 20, he became ill during the flight from Tomsk to Moscow. On August 22, he was taken to a German clinic, whose doctors announced the poisoning of a Russian with a substance from the Novichok group.
